Behind the scenes of Erik Johansson's Surreal Photos.

Erik Johansson is a surrealist artist, photographer, and retoucher from Sweden. He employs incredible creativity mixing photography to create beautiful, mind-bending compositions.
This video features his process, and it's no surprise that the same heart and wonder found in his photos is applied to his video compositions as well.
More of his work can be found at erikjohanssonphoto.com

The explanation behind illegible graffiti tagging.

Graffiti - specifically signature tags - usually don't resemble anything more to me other than a connect-the-dots puzzle of a Pollock painting. These artists give an illustrative explanation of the purpose and representation of their tags.
Artist's Tlok and Enem explain their deep rooted Philly style, and the variety of lettering techniques used to compose their signature work.

Movies are better with exploding heads. Trust me.

Ever watch a movie and get the sense that it's just not head-explody enough? Someone has spent their hard-earned visual effects education in the best way possible. Watch your favorite movie scenes get that extra bang they've been missing.
My personal favorite is when Patrick Swazy is about to catch his beloved dance partner when all of a sudden - spoiler alert - her fucking head explodes... BUT FEAR NOT! His commitment to the dance goes unabated as he raises her up, steadfast and heedlessly headless. Dirty Dancing just got a lot dirtier. Mind = Blown.
My version of a modern action-movie trailer for the hit film "Akira"

Akira is arguably one of the most groundbreaking films - and not just in the category of anime damnit! - but of all time. The implementation of surreal imaginative elements strung along an all too familiar dystopic outlook on the future makes it hauntingly mesmerizing.
Surprisingly enough it was released in the late 80's, and as such the cinematic trailer for it reflects the style of the times - which I'm not saying is necessarily crap, but I never felt it did the film justice. There are a dozen fan-made trailers for Akira, some of them focusing on the avant-garde aspect of the film which is really well executed. My version is an attempt to invoke the heart-racing excitement of the modern action movie trailer.
